QUALIFIER INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Complete the Conducting Qualifier Form

  2. Complete the Video Release form found above and email completed Video Release form to admin@sa-ml.org

  3. If you were unable to submit your qualifier as a YouTube link on the Conducting Qualifier Form, submit your qualifier video to Melanie Barnett through the Band App.

  4. SAML staff will review your video and provide feedback.

A qualifier submission along with the signing of the waiver must be turned in by 11:59PM PST two weeks and one day (Friday) prior to your first intended competition.  If you submit your video, but do not get your waiver signed in time, your submission will be marked late.

A virtual submission along with the signing of the waiver must be turned in no later than 11:59PM the Thursday (2 days) prior to the competition date.

If you already submitted a qualifier or virtual submission and received feedback, then you do not need to fill out this form for qualifiers. Please feel free to message Melanie with any questions.

MUSIC RESOURCES

Composer websites: Many composers should have their own personal website that has their works completed available. If the composer does not have a website, then please search for their publisher who might have their works available.

Commercial websites: There are numerous websites and online stores that have a plethora of music available to both students and music educators. As such, these sites provide a great way to study music by being accessible by anyone. Please be wary that some stores may have the same music at different prices and arrangements.

(Note: JW Pepper does both electronic and physical music scores; however, physical scores pay shipping tax)
